"As such a sad loveDeep in your eyes, a kind of pale jewel
Open and closed within your eyes
Ill place the sky within your eyes
There’s such a fooled heart
Beating so fast in search of new dreams
A love that will last within your heart
Ill place the moon within your heart”

An ancient proverb for all gamers:
Do not judge others for playing a game on a different or lower difficulty than yourself. It does not make you more entitled, nor does it makes you a ‘better gamer.’ Everyone plays on different settings for many reasons. Even if they are on ‘easy’ or ‘EXTREEMEEE’. Don’t do it. A gamer is someone who plays games. A gamer IS NOT WHAT DIFFICULTY THEY PLAY ON. I don’t care if they play for money. If they judge you for enjoying a game, and not being at ‘their level,’ then they can go screw.
To me, video games are an escape from duties and chores and life. I can take a break responsibly to immerse myself in a different world, and flesh out amazing stories. Sure, being paid would be nice. But I would never want to have it turn so elitist. Everyone will come face-to-face with elitist gamers if they play online, like myself and many others I know. It is unfair when you are talked down to, treated like scum, made to feel like you are so horrible at the game, that it makes you want to put it down. And NO ONE should ever have to feel like that.
If I get to pick difficulty, I always go easy or normal, first. I want to be able to get through the game well enough to follow the story. If, at the end, I want to replay it, I kick it up a notch and try to get full completion. I know others who play this way, too. There is nothing wrong with it. It doesn’t mean anyone is on different tiers. People can certainly be better skilled at some games than others, but there is no reason you should ever be yelled at for not being a ‘real gamer’ or being called a ‘fucking noob’ all the time.
Enjoy the game. Ignore the ignorant. Look out for yourself by doing whatever the fuck you want in the games you play. It’s your world, too.
